| About Us |
It all began as a hobby...and then turned into something the Lord had planned for us all along...something that we love and know as a way of life. Dorothy and Blue Weimann knew nothing else to do with their free time after Blue had retired. So what else would anyone do? They got goats, which meant good, fun times for the whole family: daughter-Kerry, grandaughter-Amanda, grandson-Carl, and great grandaughter- Alyssa. In the meantime, Allison began raising dairy goats for FFA in high school. A year after she got her first Nubian dairy goat, it was time to breed that goat, but there was just one problem, no buck. That is where everyone's paths crossed. Allison and her family became great friends with the Weimann's and their family! Not only did we become friends, we became family! Allison married the Weimann's grandson, Carl. They now have 3 children- Alyssa, CJ and Cody. And everyone lived happily ever after in the land of the goats, that is until our goats began making so much milk we didn't know what to do. So we decided, why not try goat milk soap? We nervously made our first batch with one of our good friends who had made soap once before. Our first soap was not what we had imagined soap to be like, so we tried again...and again...and again. Each time we made soap, the soap was better and better. After 2 years of making soap and giving our "experiments" to other family and friends, we finally felt confident enough to step out into the world and see what other people thought. Our goats still make way too much milk to only use it in soap, so we got our license to sell milk for animal consumption and our does have fed deer fawn, calves, foals, dogs and cats, and baby goats. However...we have become a Grade A Dairy as of June 2011 and now it seems like we could never have enough goat milk...finally! |
